When I had my first baby, I was determined to breastfeed. However, when he was placed on my chest, he didn’t do the “breast crawl” and the first breastfeed that I had seen on Instagram and Facebook. Three weeks later, I was chained to my breast pump because my baby couldn’t open his mouth wide enough to breastfeed. Nothing I tried worked and support from midwives and lactation consultants did not help.

I booked an appointment with Bridget Ingle, a recommended lactation consultant who specialises in complicated feeding issues. She knew immediately why my baby couldn’t feed and we had our first breastfeed. I was blown away! She gave me and my baby specific techniques that worked!

One month of appointments with them was life-changing. We battled premature birth, weight loss, jaundice, postpartum depression, vasospasm, blocked ducts, nipple blisters, mammary constriction syndrome, nipple thrush and then, to top it all off, COVID. It was the most difficult time of my life, but I’m so grateful for the experience.

I was determined to learn from my incredible lactation consultant and my wish came true when Bridget invited me to work in her private practice. I have since had the pleasure of helping so many mothers achieve their feeding goals. Parents often say I give them hope and the tools for success.

I've been in the trenches with complex feeding issues myself.

I myself had been a midwife for almost a decade and a lactation consultant, yet I could not breastfeed my own baby.

They say it takes a village to raise children. I was lucky enough to assemble a village around me. My brilliant lactation consultant and a highly skilled manual therapist.

Two months in, and we finally found our groove. Like an angel and a breastfeeding detective, my own lactation consultant gave me hope and multiple tools to build a comfortable and rewarding breastfeeding journey.

This experience inspired me to spend the next few years studying everything I could to build my skill set.

No mother should have to struggle and “DIY” breastfeeding issues. I am here to help you. I am committed to getting to the bottom of any of your lactation concerns, no matter how big or small.

I have never shied away from a challenge, both personally and professionally. At the ripe young age of 21, I bought the worst house on the street, stripped it bare and completed a full renovation. If I am not working with mothers and babies or running after my energetic little boy, I enjoy travel, meditation and pilates.
